New Delhi: Two days after a 22-year-old man was shot dead in northeast Delhi’s Seelampur, police arrested two suspects involved in the case. They were identified as Abdullah, aged 23, and Prince Ghazi, aged 26. “Prince was arrested by the team of the special cell from Shastri Nagar while Abdullah was nabbed by local police from Meerut,” police said. The attack was motivated by previous enmity. Misbah, a Jaffrabad resident, attended a wedding with four accomplices — Abdullah, Prince, Chhota, and Rashid. The group was returning together in a car when an argument reportedly broke out. The verbal spat escalated into gunfire. According to police, around 10.40 pm on Oct 30, over 20 rounds were fired, several of which struck Misbah. Police found him lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Misbah had a criminal record, including seven cases of murder, attempted murder, robbery and violations ofthe Arms Act. He was released recently on bail in connection with a 2023 double murder case. Police sources said he was earlier linked to the Chenu gang but shifted allegiance to the Hashim Baba group after his release. The move is believed to have angered his former accomplices, who were tracking him. Abdullah has a prior criminal record and was involved in three cases related to attempted murder, firing, and violations of the Arms Act. Prince had no criminal sinvolvement. “The post-wedding argument appears to have been a cover; the attack seems premeditated,” a police source said.
