Schools have begun sending messages to parents of selected students, asking them to complete the formalities within the stipulated timeframe. Education experts have advised parents to keep all required documents ready to avoid delays during verification. While most of the process is conducted online, many schools have set up on-campus help desks to assist parents. Several schools have drawn up waiting lists that are as long as, or even longer than, their selection lists. At Amity International School, Saket, for instance, 272 applicants were selected, while nearly 1,300 children were placed on the waiting list. St Michael’s School, Pusa Road, which has 40 seats, selected 20 girls and 20 boys in the first list and does not expect additional rounds. Bal Bharati Public School selected around 124 students, with about 100 on the waiting list. At The Indian School, 114 students made it to the selection list, while MM Public School, Pitampura, selected 112 students and placed another 63 on the waiting list. Parents whose children appeared on the first lists took time off work to complete the fee payment.”The admission process is a test for us as parents; a misstep at any stage can put a child’s future at risk,” said Priyanka Sharma, a west Delhi resident, adding, “My child is on the waiting list, and I hope he makes it through the next round.”Officials said grievances related to the first list will be addressed from Jan 24-Feb 3. If seats remain vacant, the second list, along with the waiting list, will be released on Feb 9. Issues related to the second list can be raised from Feb 10-Feb 16. Additional lists may be issued on March 5, with the admission process to conclude by March 19.
