Mumbai: A Nigerian national was arrested last week by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence for smuggling in 1.2kg of cocaine worth Rs 10 crore from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, after swallowing capsules of it. Ane Charles Joseline (30) arrived in the city on June 19. Based on a tipoff, officials examined his baggage but found nothing. They detained him on suspicion and took him for an X-ray at JJ Hospital following court’s permission. The X-ray revealed the presence of foreign substances in the abdominal region. Joseline was admitted to the hospital, where he purged 67 capsules of cocaine. tnn
