NEW DELHI: IndiGo on Tuesday issued a travel advisory stating that all flights to and from Kathmandu have been suspended due to the closure of the airport amid the prevailing situation in the Nepalese capital. In its official statement, the airline said, “If your travel is impacted, you may conveniently opt for an alternate flight or claim a refund by visiting our website. We are closely monitoring the developments and coordinating with local authorities to resume operations at the earliest. Customers are advised to keep checking our official channels for the latest advisories and updates.” The suspension has already affected several flights. Four flights bound for Kathmandu were diverted to Lucknow:
- Fly Dubai FZ539 (Dubai-Kathmandu) – diverted to Lucknow, landed at 3:25 pm.
- IndiGo 6E1157 (Mumbai-Kathmandu) – diverted to Lucknow and then to Delhi.
- IndiGo 6E1153 (Delhi-Kathmandu) – diverted to Lucknow, landed at 2:40 pm.
- Thai Lion Air TLM220 (Bangkok-Kathmandu) – diverted to Lucknow, landed at 3:05 pm.
The airline expressed regret over the disruption and urged passengers to stay updated through official channels. IndiGo assured that it is working to restore normal operations as soon as possible.
