New Delhi: Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has destroyed seized drugs worth over Rs 200 crores. The action was taken by Delhi zonal unit under Nasha Mukt Bharat initiative. The destroyed drugs were linked to 39 pre-trial and post-trial cases.The inventory, totalling to the tune of around 408 kg, included significant quantities of high-value and dangerous substances— 121 kg ganja, 395 bottles of codeine-based cough syrup, 29 kg cocaine, 122 kg alprazolam tablets, 13 kg of heroin, and 27 kg charas. Additionally, the unit destroyed 28 kg of ephedrine, 63 kg of pseudoephedrine, 0.6kg amphetamine, and 300 grams of other narcotic substances.The disposal was carried out through the Regional Drugs Disposal Committee and the High-Level Drugs Disposal Committee, ensuring strict adherence to legal procedures and maintaining complete transparency in line with established nationwide protocols.
