Kalyan: The Kolsewadi police in Kalyan arrested a 55-year-old shopkeeper for allegedly molesting a woman staffer at his shop in Kalyan East. The incident came to light after members of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) intervened, made the victim slap the accused, and circulated the video on social media, which quickly went viral.According to police, the incident took place on Friday at a shop named Saubhagya Novelty located near the old police station in the Kolsewadi market area of Kalyan East. The victim, a young woman employee, alleged that shop owner Bhavan Patel, a resident of Airoli, Navi Mumbai, misbehaved and molested her while she was at work.The woman, distressed by the harassment, approached local MNS workers. They confronted the accused at the shop, made the victim slap him, and recorded the incident. The video was later shared on social media platforms, drawing public attention and outrage.Based on the victim’s complaint and her statement, the Kolsewadi police registered a case and immediately arrested the accused.The accused was produced before court on Saturday, which sent him into judicial custody.
