Navi Mumbai: Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation organised a lecture titled ‘Economic Democracy and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’ delivered by senior economist Dr Ajit Ranade on Saturday at the Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial in Airoli. Dr. Ranade said democracy is a way of life and economic democracy means equality of opportunities, highlighting educational reforms, land reforms, workers’ rights, and social security as envisaged by Dr Ambedkar. Municipal commissioner Dr Kailas Shinde said the municipal corporation intends to utilise the memorial for social upliftment through its library and other facilities, as well as the diploma course ‘Thoughts of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’ run in collaboration with Mumbai University.
