The Pune police arrested Tejwani on Dec 3 last year based on a complaint lodged on Nov 7, 2025, by naib tehsildar Pravina S Borde against suspended tehsildar Suryakant Yewale and eight others regarding Yewale’s two illegal orders recognising the ownership rights of a 40-acre govt land parcel in Mundhwa and a 5.35-hectare govt land parcel in Bopodi in favour of private parties. The police’s case is that Tejwani, who holds the PoA on behalf of the 272 original holders of the Mahar Watan land parcel in Mundhwa, now with the govt and leased to the Botanical Survey of India (BSI) till 2038, sold the govt property to Amadea Enterprises LLP —a private firm — for Rs300 crore and registered a sale deed on May 20, 2025, without any authority. Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar’s son, Parth, is a partner in the firm.Amadea Enterprises on May 26, 2025, filed an application before Yewale seeking possession of the Mundhwa land parcel. On June 9, 2025, Yewale directed the BSI to vacate the land. Parth has not been named in the FIR, but Amadea’s other partner, Digvijay Patil, and Tejwani have been named as beneficiaries of Yewale’s June 9, 2025, order.Tejwani’s lawyer submitted that the entire case was based on documentary material and official records related to revenue proceedings, administrative correspondence and registered transactions, all of which were in custody of the govt authorities. The police also obtained all original documents, including the PoA, development agreements, acknowledgement of payment of occupancy price, registered sale deed, cellphone and other relevant documents. As such, nothing remained to be recovered, and there was no point in continued incarceration of his client, he argued.Tejwani’s lawyer also pitched for her bail on medical grounds, as she suffered from various ailments and was a single mother of three minor children. He submitted that the court was empowered to grant bail relief in such cases.Bombatkar countered by submitting that Tejwani had 11 previous criminal cases to her name and she was out on bail when she committed the present transaction while she had no authority to do so. She was a beneficiary of the same, he said. Bombatkar submitted that investigations were on and the police needed to arrest the other accused in the matter.
