Mumbai: The Supreme Court on Friday granted bail to dismissed cop Sunil Mane in the 2021 Antilia bomb scare and businessman Mansukh Hiran murder case. Mane was arrested on April 23, 2021. “It is an admitted fact that the petitioner has spent more than 41/2 years in custody. In the facts and circumstances of the case, we are of the opinion that the petitioner should be released on bail…,” the order said. Earlier the SC granted bail to another accused, dismissed cop, Pradeep Sharma. “Insofar as the present applicant… is concerned, the situation is more or less similar to Accused No 10 (Sharma) who was directed to be released on bail by this court,” the court said. On February 25, 2021 a Scorpio vehicle with explosives was found near Antilia, industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s south Mumbai home. It was alleged that on March 4, 2021 the Scorpio owner Hiran was murdered. The prosecution submitted that Hiran was was aware of the conspiracy. Ten accused, including Mane, Waze and Sharma, are named in the case.
