MUMBAI: Four people including a woman have been arrested by Aarey Police for honey-trapping and robbing a businessman of gold ornaments after luring him into a desolate part of Aarey Colony, Goregaon East.Police teams scanned through footage from 17 surveillance cameras for tracing some of the suspects.The 45-year-old businessman is based out of Deonar. According to a complaint filed by him with the Aarey Police, he wanted to head home on Nov 23. But a woman, who had befriended him, brought him to Aarey Colony with the help of an auto driver. Behind Aarey dairy, two bike-borne men were laying in wait. They flung chilly powder in the businessman’s eyes and robbed his gold chain worth Rs 5 lakh. The group then fled.The businessman subsequently informed the police. Within 24 hours of the FIR being lodged, police teams managed to nab four suspects despite CCTV grabs being unclear.The woman was identified as Shahrin Qureshi, 24. Her accomplices were identified as Vishal Wagh, 27, Namesh Surve, 23 and Jehangir Qureshi, 25. Of these, Wagh has been booked in five separate cases by the Dombivali police between 2019 and 2020 including theft and robbery offences.
