MU exams rescheduled due to ZP polls

Mumbai: The Mumbai University examinations scheduled for Jan were pushed further, following revisions necessitated by local body elections in Maharashtra. As per a circular issued by the University of Mumbai, Winter 2025 examinations were first postponed due to the elections to municipal corporations and were rescheduled again in view of the Zilla Parishad elections.According to the revised timetable, papers that were originally slated for Jan 14, 15 and 16, 2026, and later moved to early Feb for the municipal elections, will now be held on Feb 17, 18 and 20, respectively. In addition, examinations earlier scheduled for Feb 7 were deferred to Feb 21. The University clarified that while the dates changed, examination timings will remain the same as per the original schedule.University authorities asked college principals and department heads to immediately inform students and staff of the changes to avoid confusion. The repeated rescheduling, though disruptive for students, was described as unavoidable due to statutory election-related constraints.
