Navi Mumbai: Unidentified people have chopped four full-grown trees in a PCMC-owned open space plot in Kharghar sector 34-C. A portion of the compound wall was broken. The drain line alongside the compound wall was also partially broken. Illegal dumping of debris and construction waste on the same plot is underway. Locals allege PCMC has failed to protect the property despite spending a huge amount towards providing security. A PCMC tree authority staffer said, “The Kharghar ward officer has been asked to take further action on the illegal activities.”
