New Delhi: After the water level of Yamuna River receded in Delhi, the risk of vector borne diseases like dengue and malaria has increased in flood-affected areas. To prevent people from falling victim to these diseases and to reduce mosquito breeding, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is preparing to use drones in flood-hit areas. The decision was made due to difficulties faced by the staff in spraying mosquito repellent in muddy areas. “In such situations, it is possible that stagnant or muddy water remains in some places, leading to mosquito breeding. Therefore, mosquito repellent will be sprayed in these areas using drones,” said a MCD official. TNN
