Nashik: Mayor Himagauri Adke and deputy mayor Vilas Shinde, who were on their maiden visit to wards in Nashik city, were flooded with complaints and demands by Ward 1. residents.The mayor and deputy mayor announced they would be visiting the wards of Nashik city to understand the issues faced by the people and attempt to resolve the same.As the mayor and deputy mayor reached the spot, citizens told them about a range of issues, including the poor condition of roads, water scarcity, waste management, encroachments, the cleanliness of public parks, and the dilapidated state of the municipal school building.Mayor Adke said, “Since the concerned officials are accompanying us, immediate remedial measures will be implemented.”The mayor and deputy mayor issued directives regarding several of these matters, instructing the officials concerned to take necessary action. “A report about the visit and the action recommended and action taken will be presented to the Mayor,” said a senior officer from the NMC. An old pond named ‘Seeta Sarovar’ in Mhasrul is in private land and citizens demanded that the NMC conserve and beautify the spot. Mayor Adke asked the administration to take steps for the acquisition of the land by way of TDR and ensure the development of the spot, the officer added.
