Mumbai: Mahayuti politicians, led by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, congratulated C P Radhakrishnan on being elected the Vice President. CM Devendra Fadnavis said, “It is a matter of great happiness that C P Radhakrishnan, who is Maharashtra’s Governor, has been elected as the Vice President of India.“Fadnavis said Radhakrishnan’s life is a symbol of service, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the nation’s interest. “Your contribution to education, social upliftment, and good governance is a source of inspiration for the entire country. I am confident that your experience, foresight, and guidance will lead the nation to new heights and secure a stronger and more respected position on the global stage,” said Fadnavis in a social media post. The CM said he received invaluable guidance from Radhakrishnan as the state’s governor.DCM Eknath Shinde said Radhakrishnan’s victory was about honouring dedication and humble leadership. “Maharashtra governor C P Radhakrishnan has been elected as the Vice President of India with a resounding victory. On behalf of Shiv Sena, heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to him. Though his tenure as the governor of Maharashtra was relatively short, it left an extraordinary mark. It must be said that he elevated the prestige of the governor’s office.“He said Radhakrishnan is known as a disciplined worker with his feet firmly on the ground and tirelessly dedicated to public service. “With a postgraduate degree in business administration, he possesses extensive political experience and holds an exceptional position in the social fabric of South India. He demonstrated through his career that the river of development must reach the common people. By presenting such a worthy candidate, respected MP Narendra Modi and the leadership of the NDA set an example before the nation,” said Shinde.DCM Ajit Pawar said the Vice President’s role is extremely important for strengthening parliamentary traditions, protecting constitutional values, and strengthening democracy. Gratitude to PM Narendra Modi ji and all members of the NDA for the collective resolve enabling this historic win.”Reacting to speculations over cross-voting from the INDI bloc, NCP (SP) working president and Baramati MP Supriya Sule said, “We should wait for all details to come out. There were many votes which turned out to be invalid, and I feel that it is too early to comment on these invalid votes. BJP conducted three mock polls of its MPs, and it will be interesting to see how many of the NDA’s votes turned invalid. I will be able to speak more on the issue once we all get the entire picture clear.“
