NEW DELHI: A 19-year-old girl was critically injured after being stabbed by a man allegedly known to her in northeast Delhi’s Dayalpur area on Thursday evening.According to police, the incident occurred near Mangal Bazar Road in New Mustafabad, Dayalpur.“The victim was taken to GTB Hospital by her family, where she is currently undergoing treatment,” a senior police officer said.
Police have registered a case under Section 109 (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Dayalpur police station. A forensic team visited the crime scene and collected evidence.“A 24-year-old man, known to her, has been arrested,” the officer added.The accused confessed to the crime, and the knife used in the attack was recovered.Further investigation into the motive behind the attempted murder is underway.
