'It is disappointing': Ajit Pawar’s son questions AAIB report, shares cockpit video of VSR Ventures owner 'sleeping'

PUNE: In the first reaction from late deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar’s family to the release of the preliminary report by Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), his younger son Jay Pawar expressed his disappointment and demanded grounding of the entire fleet of VSR Ventures, the aviation firm which operated the plane that crashed on Jan 28 killing his father.Jay took to his social media account to express his disappointment over the report which came on Saturday, a month after the crash.

“I read the report of AAIB and I was disappointed due to its lack of depth. Along with the kin of the deceased, entire Maharashtra wants not just the formality of submission of the report but the truth and answers to all questions,” he wrote on Sunday.‘Preliminary AAIB report is disappointing, ground fleet’Jay, in his extended status on the account, said that grounding four aircraft of the aviation firm was not enough.“DGCA decided to ground some of VSR’s aircraft after finding some lacunae. However, similar shortfalls cannot be ruled out for other planes in its fleet. Keeping passengers’ safety as the highest priority, DGCA should decide on halting operations of the entire VSR fleet,” Jay Pawar wrote.ID@undefined Caption not available.In a video that he uploaded on a social media portal, Jay claimed that it was of VSR Ventures’ owner Rohit Singh sleeping while sitting in the pilot’s seat during a flight operation. While he has not mentioned any date and time for the video, Jay demanded his immediate arrest.“This is an emotional appeal for my father and also for the safety of every passenger,” he wrote.
