NEW DELHI: A 16-year-old Class 10 student allegedly committed suicide at Rajendra Place Metro Station, leaving behind a note that accusing school teachers of forcing him to take the extreme step. According to the FIR, the student’s father stated that his son was under severe mental stress due to continuous harassment by several teachers. The boy had reportedly informed his parents about the teachers’ behaviour, but despite making multiple verbal complaints to the school staff and principal, the parents said the harassment persisted. The suicide note, recovered from his school bag, expressed remorse to his family and urged action against the teachers. “I am very sorry I did this, but the school staff said so much that I had to do it. My last wish is that action be taken against them so that no other student does what I did,” the note read. It also requested that his organs be donated and apologised to his parents and brother for the pain he caused. The FIR stated that the student frequently complained about being scolded, insulted, and mentally tormented by teachers over minor issues. On November 18, while his father was away, the boy left for school and allegedly jumped from Platform No. 2 of Rajendra Place Metro Station. Following the incident, students and parents staged a protest outside the school, demanding accountability from the administration. The family has urged authorities to take immediate action to ensure that no other child faces similar harassment. Police are investigating the case, focusing on the claims of harassment and the circumstances that led to the student’s death.
