Pune: Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar on Friday appealed to state ministers to voice their concerns in cabinet meetings instead of making statements in public.His response came in view of Shiv Sena member and cabinet minister Sanjay Shirsat recently expressing displeasure over diversion of funds from the social justice department.Amidst speculations over disagreements between Mahayuti partners Shiv Sena and NCP, Eknath Shinde’s party member and cabinet minister for social justice Sanjay Shirsat recently expressed disappointment during a media interaction. He claimed that the funds meant for his department were diverted by the finance department, which is headed by Ajit Pawar.“The chief minister has already made a statement on the issue, and his word is final. Therefore, I will not say anything on the claims of funds diversions. I would only like to point out that the funds for the social justice and tribal development departments have increased by 39 to 41 percent compared to last year,” the deputy CM said.“I appeal to all the ministers that instead of making any statement publicly, which could lead to controversy, they should raise their concerns in the cabinet meeting held every week. Along with the chief ministers, both the deputy chief ministers are present at the cabinet meetings, and the decisions taken there are unanimous. If there are any disagreements, a cabinet meeting is the place where they could be resolved. However, some statements made by some ministers could lead to misunderstandings,” he added.Deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde was in Pune on Friday, where he supported Pawar’s stand. Interacting with the media on the issue, Shinde said, “It is our internal issue, and the chief minister and both the deputy chief ministers will resolve it internally. There is no need for any conflict in Mahayuti.
