Indian Army collaborates with DTU to advance defence innovation, skill development

New Delhi: In a move aimed at boosting defence innovation and self-reliance, the Indian Army has partnered with Delhi Technological University (DTU) to promote advanced research, academic exchange and skill development for military personnel. Under the initiative, DTU and the Indian Army will work together on research and training in advanced and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, robotics, cybersecurity, geoinformatics, data analytics and modern defence systems.“The partnership aims to build technical expertise within the armed forces while fostering a culture of innovation. Through programmes, workshops and hands-on training modules, soldiers will be equipped with the skills and understanding needed to operate and leverage sophisticated technologies,” an official said. The Indian Army termed the memorandum of understanding (MOU) as a step towards Atmanirbhar Bharat, noting that closer ties with the academic institution will help prepare personnel for the evolving demands of modern warfare.
