New Delhi: A history-sheeter involved in over 75 criminal cases was arrested in southeast Delhi’s Badarpur in the early hours of Friday.The accused was identified as Mohammad Saleem, a 48-year-old from Bareilly. Police said that he was previously involved in the murder of Salim Pehlwan, a criminal from northeast Delhi, and underwent a sentence of eight years in the case.According to police, a tip-off was received that Saleem would come to the NTPC in Badarpur to commit a burglary. Once he was identified by an informer, a police team intercepted the vehicle.He was arrested after a brief exchange of fire, during which he was shot in the left leg, police said. He has been shifted to Safdarjung Hospital for treatment. A case has been registered at Badarpur police station.
