Four senior bureaucrats promoted to rank of additional chief secretary in Maharashtra

Mumbai: Four senior bureaucrats were promoted to the rank of additional chief secretary on Thursday. The IAS officers are Ashwini Bhide, who was principal secretary in the CMO; K H Govindraj, who was principal secretary in urban development department (II); Vikaschandra Rastogi, who was principal secretary for agriculture; and Radhika Rastogi, who was principal secretary in the home department (Appeals and Security).Bhide, an IAS officer of the 1995 batch, is also the managing director of Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation, which is executing the underground Colaba-Bandra-Aarey Metro Line 3.A senior official said that transfers of some senior bureaucrats may take place after Ganeshotsav as some departments don’t have full-time officers and a few babus are holding additional charge. “Transfers were delayed as chief secretary Rajesh Kumar Meena got a three-month extension till Nov 30. Otherwise, with a new chief secretary, a slew of transfers could have taken place,” the official said.
