Four men rob truck driver at Chakan MIDC | Pune News



Pune: Chakan police are searching for four men, who beat up a truck driver and robbed him of his cash and the truck’s batteries in Chakan MIDC on Monday. A 25-year-old truck driver from Beed district lodged a complaint with the Chakan police on Tuesday. An officer from the Chakan police said the complainant was on his way to Talegaon Dabhade to unload ash at a company, which he transported from Parli Vaijnath in Beed district. When he reached Chakan, two men on a motorcycle blocked his way. Two others in a car also reached there. “They forced him to get down from the truck by alleging that the latter’s truck hit their vehicle,” the officer said.He said the four men beat up the driver. They also threatened to kill him and told him to follow their vehicles. “After driving for some distance, the accused stopped near a petrol pump. They took the truck’s keys from him and removed the batteries. They also robbed Rs5,000 from him,” he said.The officer said before leaving the spot, the accused threatened the driver not to disclose anything about the incident to anyone. “The victim later approached the police and lodged a complaint. We registered the case of robbery. Our investigations are on,” the officer said.
