Mumbai: A fire broke out in a common meter room of six-storey SRA building, Shalimar, in Goregaon West on Wednesday. No injuries were reported. The fire was put out in two hours. According to fire brigade officials, smoke spread through the staircase to the upper floors. “We managed to move 15-20 residents to the terrace, while some of them got out of the building on their own,” said an official. On Sunday, a fire broke out in another SRA building, in Dahisar, resulting in the death of two women, aged 75 and 40, and causing injuries to 52 others. tnn
