NEW DELHI: Delhi Police arrested a man on Tuesday for creating fake female profiles on social media.The accused, identified as Manoj Verma, befriended women, persuaded them to share private content, and then extorted money by threatening to circulate it online or to their relatives. Authorities recovered a mobile phone from him containing WhatsApp chats, obscene videos, and the fake Facebook accounts used in the offence.

According to DS Bhaskar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, West District, the investigation is ongoing to identify other accomplices and verify the involvement of additional mobile numbers and social media accounts.
