NEW DELHI: A man from Chandni Chowk was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a girl by using an alias. Faizal, police said, lured the girl into a relationship and later asked her to convert, following which she alerted her parents and filed an FIR. A case was recently registered at Nabi Karim police station and Faizal was booked on charges of rape and other offences, an officer said. According to the complaint, Faizal, posing as Rahul since 2022, was in contact with the girl through Facebook. He repeatedly met her and had established sexual relations with her, promising marriage, it alleged. The accused has been sent to judicial custody. The girl’s statement will be recorded before a magistrate and a chargesheet will be filed, police said.
