Mumbai: CM Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday criticised Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray on his “voter manipulation” presentation made the day earlier. “From what little I know of Aaditya Thackeray, I did not expect him to do ‘pappugiri’.”During his presentation, Thackeray had claimed there were over 19,000 bogus voters in the electoral list in his assembly constituency, Worli. Fadnavis said Thackeray replicated opposition leader in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi’s presentation. “Rahul Gandhi set up a huge screen, moving from one side to another. Khoda pahaad aur chooha bhi na nikla (nothing came of the brouhaha),” he said, adding that this was the opposition’s cover firing as it knows that people are not with it and that it is not going to win the elections. “After the results, it will turn around and say ‘this is what we predicted’. In a way, this is a mockery of democracy.” The opposition has called a protest march on Nov 1 to highlight the alleged discrepancies in the voters’ list. tnn
