New Delhi: Some parts of Delhi received light showers on Sunday. Although rain is expected on Monday and Tuesday, the weather is likely to remain dry from Tuesday to Thursday. Day temperatures are forecast to remain between 34 degrees Celsius and 36 degrees Celsius over the next few days.According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), Pitampura logged 13 mm of rainfall, Mayur Vihar 4.5 mm, and Rajghat 0.1 mm from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Ridge and Lodhi Road saw ‘trace’ rainfall, while Safdarjung, which is the city’s base weather station, did not witness any rain during the same period.“Active monsoon conditions are likely to prevail over the capital during the next one day. One or two spells of very light to light rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in the coming days,” said an IMD official.The maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded at 34.4 degrees Celsius, which is near normal for this time of year. The relative humidity oscillated between 74% and 94%. The minimum temperature settled at 25.1 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal. IMD has predicted that the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 34-36 degrees Celsius over the next few days.The Met department has predicted that rain is unlikely from Sept 10 to 12, but overcast conditions may continue. However, there are chances of very light to light rain on Sept 13. Delhi’s air quality, meanwhile, continued to stay in the ‘satisfactory’ category with an AQI of 84. However, it is likely to deteriorate to the ‘moderate’ range from Monday to Wednesday, according to the Air Quality Early Warning System.
