In his application, Siddiqui urged the court to direct the agency to furnish all documents relied upon in the chargesheet to enable him to prepare his defence. However special public prosecutor Simon Benjamin opposed the plea, arguing that the list of unrelied documents cannot be provided at the stage of consideration of the chargesheet and can only be supplied at the stage of arguments on charges. The defence cited a Supreme Court judgment, and the court asked that it be placed on record.Siddiqui was arrested on Nov 18. The agency has alleged that the university generated proceeds of crime amounting to Rs 45 crore by dishonestly inducing students to enrol through false claims. A chargesheet was filed against Siddiqui and Al Falah Charitable Trust on Jan 16.Separately, Delhi Police arrested Siddiqui on Feb 5 on forgery charges following two FIRs registered on a complaint by University Grants Commission.
