New Delhi: A chargesheet has been filed by police in connection with an incident in Dwarka that killed 23-year-old Sahil Dhaneshra last month. The minor driver did not possess a valid licence and drove negligently, it stated.Sahil lost his life after being hit by a car allegedly driven by a minor on Feb 3 in Dwarka Sector-11. Police sources said that a preliminary inquiry report was filed on Thursday. They added that another chargesheet was filed against the minor’s father for allowing an unauthorised person to drive the vehicle. It was submitted last week in a Dwarka court.Earlier, police seized the SUV and invoked provisions of Section 199A of the Motor Vehicles Act against the father, which holds guardians or vehicle owners accountable when a minor commits a traffic offence.A senior police officer said that on the day of the incident, cops found the motorcycle, the SUV and the cab in severely damaged condition. Sahil was declared dead on the spot, while Ajit Singh, the cab driver, sustained injuries. The minor was along with his sister, and he was later granted bail.“Preliminary investigations indicated that the motorcycle and SUV collided head-on. Following the impact, the SUV lost control and crashed into the cab parked along the roadside,” a police officer said.
