New Delhi: Delhi Police’s crime branch has arrested three people, including a Nigerian national, in connection with an international drug syndicate and seized 194 grams of cocaine worth Rs 2.25 crore from them. According to police, a tip-off was received on Sept 6 that two men—Rahul Wadhwa (32) and Abdul Kadir (29)—would be delivering a cocaine consignment in sector-36, Rohini. Acting on the information, a team apprehended the duo around 3pm while they were allegedly conducting a drug deal. Police recovered 85 grams of cocaine from their possession, and a case was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. “The men told police that the cocaine was supplied by a Nigerian national, Chimezie Lazarus Ndedinigwe, alias Zudo (35), a resident of Mehrauli, who controls the cocaine distribution in Delhi-NCR,” said DCP (crime) Pankaj Kumar. Based on the lead, the team tracked down Zudo to his residence in Mehrauli on Sept 10 and arrested him. An additional 109 grams of cocaine was seized from him. Investigations revealed that Kadir, a former taxi driver, was lured into drug trafficking by Zudo, who paid him Rs 1,000 per delivery. Kadir later introduced Wadhwa into the network. Police said Zudo came to India in Jan 2023 for medical treatment but took to selling cocaine in Delhi, Gurgaon, Meerut, Chandigarh and Haldwani.
