Pune:A distant relative of a 12-year-old boy was arrested on Wednesday evening on the charge of sodomising and murdering him, after he was found dead in a well in a village in Shirur taluka late on Tuesday evening.The boy was a Standard VI student of a school in Shirur. According to the police, he was alone in the home when the arrested man sexually assaulted him and then strangled him to death. Later, he threw the motionless boy in the well.The boy’s family started searching for him and found him in the well. The family members raised an alarm, following which the police and rescue teams reached the spot. The boy was taken out of the well and sent to a hospital, where he was declared dead.
