Delhi Thar accident: 40-year-old biker dies after collision with Mahindra SUV; driver arrested
A 40-year-old motorcyclist was killed in Dwarka sector 9 after a collision with a Mahindra Thar

NEW DELHI: A 40-year-old motorcyclist died following a collision with a Mahindra Thar in Dwarka sector 9 late Monday night. Police have arrested the driver involved in the incident. Police responded to a PCR call and promptly dispatched a team. Upon reaching the spot, they found both the motorcycle and the SUV in a damaged condition. The injured motorcyclist, identified as Aashish, a resident of Uttam Nagar, was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) team inspected the site and seized both the vehicles. A case was registered and teams were assigned to track down the suspect.Using technical surveillance, the Thar was traced to its owner in Gurgaon, said a senior police officer. Further inquiries identified the driver – a man in his early 30s from Dwarka – who was taken into custody. Last month, a 45-year-old man was killed after being struck by a speeding Thar, allegedly driven by a drunk driver, in Rajendra Nagar, central Delhi. In Aug, a Thar mounted a footpath in Chanakyapuri, hitting two pedestrians-one died on the spot and the other was critically injured. In the same month, a 40-year-old contractor riding a bike died after being hit by a Thar.
