NEW DELHI: A 15-year-old girl received 20 stitches after being attacked with a blade allegedly by a group of teenagers near her school in Rohini’s Sector 20 on Aug 9.A footage of the incident shows a group of schoolgirls walking when they were stopped by another group from a different school. A brief conversation ensued, followed by a scuffle.Police said that three girls, aged between 14 and 15, were involved in the assault. “The attackers were friends of another girl who studies at the victim’s school. An inquiry revealed that an altercation had taken place on Aug 9 between the two girls. Seeking revenge, the teenagers hatched the plan. The girl was slapped and then attacked with a blade on her face and back. She sustained severe injuries and was undergoing treatment at a hospital,” an officer said.The victim stated that she had been subjected to harassment by the girls for some time, but she chose to ignore their behaviour. “There was no personal enmity with them…I don’t know why they attacked me,” she added.A case has been registered. No one was apprehended till Thursday late night.
