NEW DELHI: Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) issued a passenger advisory at 7am on Tuesday, stating that flight operations are running smoothly after visibility improved following a spell of dense fog in the city.The airport said on-ground officials are deployed across terminals to assist passengers and provide necessary support, according to news agency ANI.“Flight operations are running smoothly as visibility at the airport has improved. Please be assured that our on-ground officials are available across terminals to assist passengers and provide necessary support. For the latest flight schedules, please get in touch with your respective airline,” said Delhi Airport.Earlier, dense fog caused major disruptions at IGI Airport, leading to multiple flight delays and cancellations. Airlines, including IndiGo and Air India, issued advisories to passengers as visibility conditions fluctuated.In its advisory, IndiGo said it was closely monitoring the situation and making operational adjustments to minimise inconvenience to passengers.In its statement, IndiGo said, “#Delhi and #Hindon (Airport) continue to remain wrapped in chilly winter air and lingering fog this morning. The fluctuating visibility has led to changes in flight schedules, and operations may be slower than usual as conditions evolve. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to welcoming you onboard soon.”Meanwhile, Delhi’s air quality showed a marginal improvement on Tuesday morning. The Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 388 at 8am, placing it in the ‘very poor’ category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).Several areas across the capital, however, continued to record ‘severe’ air quality levels, with AQI readings above 400. Anand Vihar registered an AQI of 451, while Ashok Vihar recorded 433. Other areas witnessing severe pollution included Jahangirpuri (451), Chandni Chowk (432), Nehru Nagar (402), and Patparganj (412), CPCB data showed.
