New Delhi: Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has approved a comprehensive revamp of Qutab Golf Course in south Delhi and plans to add a range of modern amenities to enhance the experience and convenience of its members. The authority will construct a multipurpose hall and new changing room facilities within the existing golf course centre building. The redevelopment plan also includes a leisure swimming pool with a tensile canopy, a terrace seating area with a pergola atop the club building, and upgraded internal electrical installations to improve illumination and aesthetics. Officials said they are targeting completion within 270 days.“We will also add guestrooms and accessible toilets. The process for hiring an expert agency through tender has already been initiated,” an official said. The project cost is estimated at Rs 9.4 crore. The scope of work also covers water supply, sewerage and drainage systems, including the installation of sanitary fixtures and fittings. “All works will be carried out as per CPWD specifications and will be protected against corrosion to ensure durability,” the official said.Qutab Golf Course features an 18-hole layout, a heritage clubhouse, and a 250-yard, 28-bay double-decker driving range, making it one of Delhi’s premier public golfing destinations. “The night-lit driving range has 28 bays — 14 at each level — along with an artificial turf putting green, a pro shop, a golf simulator room and a cafeteria for visiting golfers,” an official said. The revamp comes five months after DDA opened the gymnasium at the golf course to the public, offering annual memberships.
