In the last month, the crime branch team raided a spa at Nigdi and a lodge in Alandi, and took action against four women. The police registered cases against the lodge and spa owners. Gite said that in the last year, the crime branch busted 28 sex rackets operated from different parts of Pimpri Chinchwad. The police arrested 45 persons and took action against 63 women who were involved in the flesh trade. “We also registered 70 cases against 107 women who were found soliciting for the purpose of prostitution on public roads,” Gite said. The officer said that in the last month, the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey issued orders sealing three establishments, including two spas and a lodge, for operating a sex racket. “In the last year, similar action was taken against eight establishments,” the officer said.
