Chain-snatching trio held; 9.8L booty, 7 bikes recovered | Pune News



Pune: The Kalewadi police arrested three criminals on the police records in connection with the recent chain-snatching crime that happened in Rahatani. The police not only recovered the robbed gold chain worth Rs 3.80 lakh but also recovered seven motorcycles, collectively worth Rs 6 lakh, from the trio.One of the three accused, Sanjay Nakka (29), was nabbed by the chain-snatching victim and her husband at the spot on Feb 3. His accomplices, Adarsh Kamathikar (25) and Sanju Gudmalwar (24), all from Nanded district, were taken into custody from a village in Jalna district. “We recovered a motorcycle from the duo, which was stolen from Kalewadi recently,” assistant police inspector Vaibhav Gurav of the Kalewadi police told TOI.API Gurav said the police traced the duo in Jalna district and took them into custody. During questioning, the trio admitted to stealing motorcycles from the Kalewadi area. “We recovered 7 motorcycles, which the trio stole in the last three months,” Gurav said.Gurav said the police recovered a sharp knife from the trio. :They are criminals on the police records of the Nanded police and have cases registered against them,” Gurav said.
