Mumbai: Police have registered a case against Jagdish Dharmik (57), a former rent collector of the Mumbai Building Repair and Reconstruction Board of MHADA, for embezzling over Rs 5.7 crore collected from tenants of reconstructed buildings and transit camps. Police said residents of reconstructed MHADA buildings had submitted written complaints in 2023 alleging discrepancies in rent receipts issued for reconstructed toilets and other facilities.
