HYBE, the global entertainment company behind BTS, has officially opened its Indian arm, HYBE India Entertainment Private Limited. The new subsidiary, headquartered in Mumbai, becomes the company’s fifth international hub after Japan, the U.S., Latin America, and China.

HYBE India is set to act as a cultural bridge, connecting the country’s fast-growing music industry with the global stage. The subsidiary’s mission — “Where voices of India become global stories” — underscores its focus on scouting, training, and launching Indian talent for worldwide audiences. Plans include localized audition programs, artist development systems, and support for HYBE’s existing groups when they promote in the region.

“India is home to one of the largest music streaming markets in the world, with nearly 185 million users,” HYBE said in its launch announcement. “The explosive growth of K-pop here shows us the country’s vast potential, and we are eager to invest deeply.”

The move builds on HYBE’s multi-home, multi-genre strategy, which adapts business models to local cultures while expanding its global reach. In the U.S., HYBE’s American subsidiary debuted the girl group KATSEYE, which quickly broke into the Billboard Hot 100. Similar initiatives in Latin America have nurtured regional artists through training and audition shows.

For Indian fans, HYBE’s arrival means the possibility of seeing some of the label’s biggest names — including BTS, Tomorrow X Together, Enhypen, Seventeen, and KATSEYE — perform live in the country for the first time. It also opens the door for Indian talent to join the global K-pop ecosystem, with HYBE’s proven track record of turning trainees into international stars.

With Mumbai as its base, HYBE India is poised to reshape how Indian music interacts with global audiences, making the nation a key player in the next wave of the Hallyu movement.
