Boy murdered near Rohini mall after brawl, 3 teens held

New Delhi: A 13-year-old boy was fatally stabbed allegedly by three juveniles outside a Rohini mall on Sunday after a dance session at a party turned violent. The altercation began when one person accidentally stepped on another’s foot, sparking a confrontation that culminated in the stabbing. Police apprehended the three juveniles.According to police, the argument erupted at a pub inside the mall where two groups of boys gathered to enjoy the evening with music and dance. However, the heated argument between the two groups ensued soon.A call was made to the local police control room about the stabbing and a team from the local police station immediately went to the spot, only to find that the boy was already taken to a nearby hospital. Shortly thereafter, another call was received, informing police that a second injured person was also admitted to the hospital. In response, police registered two separate cross-complaints filed by the involved parties and official cases were opened for further legal action.Deputy commissioner of police (Rohini) Rajeev Ranjan said that despite medical efforts, one of the injured boys succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital. The entire brawl was recorded by the mall’s CCTV surveillance cameras. The footage played a crucial role in helping investigators piece together the sequence of events leading to the stabbing. By reviewing the recordings and with valuable assistance from local informants, police were able to identify and subsequently apprehend three juveniles believed to be directly involved in the incident.
