Navi Mumbai: Following NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar‘s allegation that social justice minister Sanjay Shirsat, during his tenure as Cidco chairman in the previous Mahayuti govt led by Eknath Shinde, had illegally handed over 15 acres of a prime land plot in Navi Mumbai worth around Rs 5,000 crore to the Biwalkars, the family on Tuesday said they will file a defamation case against the legislator. The Biwalkars, through their advocate, also demanded a SIT probe.Refuting the allegations at a press conference, Yashwant Biwalkar said: “The land was a gift to our ancestors by Maratha leader Raghuji Angre. We fought the legal battle and obtained allotment of land in 1936. Though the matter is sub judice in the Supreme Court, we are confident of the verdict in our favour. It seems there is a nexus between politicians and builders for favouring the latter. As MLA Rohit Pawar has made false allegations against the Biwalkar family, I will be filing a defamation case.“
