‘Bad Boys’ director Michael Bay to collaborate with Bhanushali Studios for his first Indian film

Acclaimed Hollywood director Michael Bay, known for helming movies like Bad Boys and Transformers, will be making his Indian film debut as he is set to collaborate with producer Vinod Bhanushali’s banner, Bhanushali Studios for an upcoming film, that remains currently untitled.

It will feature music by A.R. Rahman and will be helmed by Anthony D’Souza, who has directed films like Boss (2013), Blue (2009), and Azhar (2016). The film is currently in early development stage and more details from it are awaited.

Michael took to social to confirm the collaboration as he shared a photo with Vinod and Anthony.

Speaking about the collaboration, Michael said in a statement, ”It will be an exciting chance to mix Hollywood’s action style with the heart and emotion of Indian storytelling. Working with Rahman, Vinod, and Tony is a chance to create a new kind of cinematic experience—one with power, rhythm, and incredible visuals. Tony’s vision, especially how he handles scale and emotion in his movies, will make this collaboration really fulfilling.”

Anthony added, “By bringing together both the incendiary ingenuity and the visionary ethos of Michael Bay, the ethereal musical genius of Rahman sir with the support and cinematic narrative of Bhanushali Studios, it is both an honour and a privilege to collaborate with the true legends of cinema, whose mastery continues to inspire and humble me.”

Bhanushali studios has produced films like Sirf Ek Banda Kaafi Hai (2023), Main Atal Hoon (2024) and Bhaiyya Ji (2024), among others.
