MUMBAI: Politician Zeeshan Siddique has expressed dissatisfaction with the crime branch’s response to his RTI query on the deportation proceedings of gangster Anmol Bishnoi, accused in the murder of his father, former minister Baba Siddique.Zeeshan sought details of the steps taken by the police to secure Anmol’s deportation from Canada, where he was detained earlier this year following an Interpol request. The police refused to disclose the information, citing exemptions under the RTI Act. Siddique filed a first appeal on Aug 16 before deputy commissioner of police (Disclosure) Raj Tilak Roshan, the first appellate authority.Baba was shot dead in Bandra on Oct 12, 2024. At least 25 arrests were made in the case. Investigations revealed that Anmol Bishnoi, younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, allegedly ordered the killing.
