New Delhi: In the wake of monsoon season, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has claimed that it has completed the first phase of desilting operations for 2025, removing over 1.7 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of silt from major drains across the capital.Between Jan 1 and June 30, the civic body has claimed that it cleared 1,70,619.89 MT of silt against the target of 1,26,474.27 MT, marking a significant improvement compared to the same period last year, claimed MCD.Desilting exercise covered 800 nallahs, spanning over 530.83 km across 12 administrative zones.
