PALGHAR: Another gas leakage in the Boisar MIDC on Monday evening created panic amongst the people, though there were no fatalities. On August 21, a gas leakage in Medley Pharma located on plot F-13 in Boisar MIDC, had killed four of its employees, cognizance of which was even taken by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Delhi. While this incident was still fresh in peoples’ minds, today evening’s gas leak was enough to create panic. Cops and Fire Brigade reached the spot and cops could be seen interacting with the aggressive crowd who were seen demanding answers about this gas leak. The staff present in the factory during this leak was found safe.This gas leak took place in Aarti Drugs Limited, plot T-150, around evening and was contained by 7:10. A senior officer from the Director Of Industrial Safety & Health (DISH) said that these were Hydrochloric fumes leaked from the flange gasket of the tank.There was a leakage of HCL fumes from one of the tanks at Aarti Drugs. We have contained the situation and are in process of filing a case under relevant sections at the Boisar police station, said Palghar SP, Yatish Deshmukh, who reached the spot to assess the situation.
