Palghar: Amid reports of a tussle between BJP leader Ganesh Naik and deputy CM Eknath Shinde for political supremacy in the Thane-Palghar region, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Friday said Naik was a “skilled wrestler” who will emerge as a winner. Naik “never lost his temper” despite internal political tensions [in the governing alliance], he said. Raut targeted the BJP-led Union govt over big-ticket infrastructure projects in Palghar district, including Vadhvan and Murbe ports, claiming that they were being imposed on taxpayers to benfit an industrialist. He also criticised govt over the poor condition of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad national highway. Ahead of MNS’s ‘Deepotsav’ at Shivaji Park in Dadar on Friday evening, which Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray was inaugurate, Raut said it was a major political development and a “leap forward towards Shiv Sena (UBT)-MNS alliance”.
