New Delhi: AAP on Friday alleged that BJP MLA Rajkumar Chauhan threatened to demolish the local market if people did not attend the inauguration of Sanjay Gandhi Trauma Centre. The party shared a purported video in which the MLA is saying: “Listen carefully, inauguration of the Mangolpuri hospital is coming up. The CM will come. Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva will come. If you don’t attend, I will destroy your market.”AAP Delhi president Saurabh Bharadwaj called this a “serious” matter. “People are angry with BJP, and now, crowds are being gathered through threats,” he alleged.Chauhan rejected the allegation and said, “There is no such function in my area. It was a meeting of our community. What I have said is being used out of context. The things I am saying are related to the panchayat.”Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva called the allegation baseless. “Bharadwaj must remember Chauhan is so popular that merely the talk of his possible BJP candidacy had led to AAP MLA Rakhi Birla abandoning the Mangolpuri constituency,” he said.
