New Delhi: Delhi Assembly has launched an AI-enabled chatbot ‘Vidhan Sathi’ for MLAs ahead of the budget session beginning March 23. The AI tool will provide real-time analysis of bills, reports and legislative records, with planned National e-Vidhan Sabha (NeVA) integration. “Members of a Legislature are often required to engage with complex laws and policy issues within limited time — Vidhan Sathi, conceived as a legislative research and assistance tool, is our effort to ensure they are supported with clarity, context and credible information, so that every discussion in this House is informed, thoughtful, and purposeful,” said Speaker Vijender Gupta at a press conference. He added that Delhi Assembly is the country’s first legislative body to have an AI-enabled chatbot for its members. Besides providing access to documents, it will assist the members in analysing complex issues and presenting well-informed, evidence-based arguments in the House. The app can be accessed by all MLAs of the assembly through a QR code placed on each member’s desk, along with a direct digital link. The access will only be restricted to them. “The platform is available in both Hindi and English and also offers voice-enabled features for ease of use during proceedings,” said an official.
