Navi Mumbai: An unidentified woman committed suicide by jumping before a moving train at Kharghar station on the harbour line on Tuesday evening. Prima facie, Panvel GRP have registered an accidental death case.Vijay Tawade, senior inspector of Panvel GRP, informed that the deceased unidentified woman is aged 50-55 years. In the footage of CCTV camera surveillance at Kharghar station’s platform number 1, the woman is seen sitting on a bench on the platform at the CSMT end. Around 4.49 pm, when a CSMT-Panvel-bound train was arriving at Kharghar platform, she suddenly jumped on the tracks. The motorman was unable to apply sudden brakes as the incident occurred within a fraction of seconds. Her body was badly mutilated. The on-duty RPF personnel and the commuters on the platform lifted her mutilated body from the tracks and brought it on to the platform, and then the body was taken to Panvel sub-district hospital.SPI Tayade said, “As of now, the deceased woman is unidentified as she was not found in possession of a mobile or any identity proof. To identify the woman, we are checking with the local police stations and our counterparts whether any missing complaint is lodged about a woman whose description matches that of the deceased woman.”Need Help?
